FAQs

Who Are We?

The term “naked” means undisguised, blatant, and devoid of concealment. There are no questionable or unrecognizable ingredients in our products. Our artisan soaps are made with nourishing ingredients such as olive oil, coconut oil, and sustainable palm oil combined with dollops of creamy shea, rich cocoa, and exotic kokum butter scented only with pure essential oils and a selection of quality natural fragrance oils. Naked Bar Soap Co. believes great things come in small batches. Crafting soap is therapeutic and holistic all at the same time. We love what we do and it reflects in our creations. This is what we want the products in our company to represent - natural, completely obvious, not hidden or changed in any way.

What does "saponified oils" mean?

In the description of our soap ingredient labels we use the term "saponified oils" to represent that the oils have been changed to soap using the process of saponification. Saponification is the chemical reaction created by combining oils or fats with an alkali and water. Many handcrafted soap makers use the Cold Process method. Aside from the heat used to melt the solid fats to their liquid state, the heat produced by combining the precisely weighed oils or fats, alkali and water is sufficient to initiate the chemical reaction.

Saponification is complete after the soap mixture has been poured into molds, cut into bars, and allowed to cure for several weeks. Hot Process Soap is actually cooked at a high temperature for an extended period of time to accelerate the saponification process. At Naked Bar Soap Co. we use both the cold process and hot process methods of soap making.

Allergies and adverse reactions

Always read the description of the product you are buying to avoid any allergic and/or adverse reactions. We suggest trying any product on a small area first before using it on large areas. The descriptions of all our products are meant to be used as reference only. The statements made by Naked Bar Soap Co. have not been evaluated by the FDA.

Do you offer soap-making classes?

No. Many moons ago, we held soap-making classes, however we no longer offer them.

How are your soaps packaged?

Our artisan soaps come packaged in shrink-wrap with a sticker label. Salt soaps, glycerin soaps, and bath bombs are also shrink-wrapped to prevent them from "sweating" or losing efficacy, as they are humectants and draw moisture from the air.

What is this store's return and exchange policy?

All sales are final. Naked Bar Soap Co. DOES NOT offer any returns or exchanges, or provide refunds due to the personal nature of our products.

If there was an issue with your order, you have 7 DAYS from the day your purchase was delivered to contact us regarding your order’s issue. Once orders are processed and shipped, we cannot cancel orders or accept returns, but if there is a problem or we have made an error, please contact us and we will do our very best to resolve it.

If a package is not delivered or is returned due to insufficient or incorrect address, purchasers are responsible for all costs associating with re-shipping the package. Returned shipments will incur a 20% restocking fee and will not have the original shipping charges refunded.

Additional Services - if you want to add insurance or signature confirmation for your package, let us know, and we will invoice you for the additional charge.

Naked Bar Soap Co. is not responsible for products affected by warm or cold weather climate, or for mishandling by the USPS or UPS, and as such will not be replaced by Naked Bar Soap Co.

Do you offer local pick-up?

Our pick-up hours are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. unless one of these days fall on a holiday and we are closed.

Our location operates as a production studio, not a standard retail store, which is why our pickup hours are limited. We offer these hours as a courtesy to provide a personal service in a way that aligns with our production schedules.

Our pickup times are carefully selected based on our studio’s operating hours and are listed prominently on our website for our customers' convenience. While we understand these hours may not align with everyone's schedules, they are a part of our effort to balance customer service with our production demands.

We currently do not have the capacity to offer delivery services as our focus is on maintaining the quality and integrity of our production processes. However, if our pickup schedule poses a significant inconvenience, you may consider authorizing someone else to collect your order on your behalf by simply letting us know via email or on the note section of the order. They will need to have the order information and proper government issued identification.

We appreciate your understanding and your interest in our products.

Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?

We do not accept orders outside of the US at this time.

How are your items shipped?

We ship all orders using the United States Postal Service and/or UPS. This allows us to track and/or insure packages shipped for your protection. Shipping cannot be paid with a coupon code or gift card. These are separate charges incurred by the mail carrier (USPS/UPS) and cannot be discounted.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Order processing is currently 3-5 business days. Our shipping department ships orders out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with the exception of holidays. Once your order has been submitted to the USPS or UPS, it may take up to 10 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service. COVID-19 has caused additional USPS and UPS shipping delays as well. Please refer to tracking information provided for more information.

It says my package was delivered but I didn't receive it. What do I do now?

Kindly coordinate with your local post office or UPS location depending on your chosen carrier. They would be the best people to sort this out. Once your order had been packaged, submitted, and processed by the USPS/UPS, we must follow the directives of the USPS/UPS for order delivery issues. Tracking information is issued for this purpose.

When your order is showing as "delivered" we have no other way to confirm delivery. Your local post office would be the best contact for you when they have indicated an item was delivered.

What if my package was lost or stolen?

If a package has been marked as delivered to the shipping address provided at checkout, we are not responsible if that package is lost or stolen after delivery. We understand having a package taken is frustrating, but it must be your responsibility to know typical delivery times of postal workers in your neighborhood, and make sure someone is home to receive the package, or make other arrangements for your package.

Our USPS/UPS shipping option does not include comprehensive insurance or signature confirmation. If you would like these safeguards added to your shipment, we suggest choosing the upgrade at checkout.

If your package is lost in transit (very rare) this is the carrier's responsibility. In this case you may reach out to the USPS/UPS directly for assistance. If your package was insured, send us an email right away and we can file a claim.

What if something is wrong with my order?

If you have a problem with an order from this store, please contact the store directly by emailing us at info@nakedbarsoapco.com within 7 days of receiving your order. Messages will be replied to within 1-2 business days.

Can I use multiple discount codes and/or gift codes for a single order?

Gift codes and discount codes may only be used one per order and cannot be combined.
